Dimmer switch l1 l2

Dimmers look slightly different to standard switches being much more chunky. The Lis the switched live going out to the light. They will be marked so you can tell which is which. Two way switch (UK light switch ). Lis off when Lis on and vice versa depending on the switch .

This dimmer has terminal for L, Land common which is identified by the sine wave symbol ~. Just to check would the single wire on either side be connected to the com on my original light switches and the other two wires be connected to the Land L? If this is so which inputs do you think they would connect to on the lightwave dimmer sockets?
