1 Way 2 way switch

They are wired so that operation of either switch will control the light. Electrical switches are very simple devices that are used to turn things on and off. The most common type of switches is the one that we use to turn our lights on and off. Very little has changed in how switches work since when they were invented.

These diagrams show various methods of one , two and multiple way switching.

Switches are shown as dotted rectangles.

Typically, these terminals will be marked COM.

One way switch (UK light switch ). The common is the main live coming in. The Lis the switched live going out to the light. They will be marked so you can tell which is which.

Two way switch (UK light switch ). Backed out and captive terminal screws. Free delivery and returns on all eligible orders. A one way light switch is quite easy to wire up. Light switch with neutral wires joined fig 2. The cable going to the light switch is connected as follows (fig ). These are typically labelled COM, L and L(Some may label the Land Lpositions as Way and Way ). In one switch position the COM terminal is connected to L1.

Jamme as in would not turn either way , and the head slot broke open in the attempt. Yes,: I recommend this product. The terminal screws binded on the threads and took much force to unscrew them.

When they are connecte the switch is on. One terminal was so tight the terminal was unusable as the screw head got mashed whilst slackening it. Rugged design with tough, durable metal-clad finish.
