3 Gang one way switch

One way light switch mechanism. A one way switch has two terminals, its the simplest of switch arrangements. Is there any way to separate them so that one switch controls one light and the other controls the other separately?


These diagrams show various methods of one , two and multiple way switching. Switches are shown as dotted rectangles.

When the switch is on, both terminals are connected together.

Typically, these terminals will be marked COM.

Make sure you turn the power off to the light switch at your consumer unit. Unscrew the two retaining screws on the switch and pull away the switch. This stops you pulling away the paint work on . Only one size of screwdriver required.
