Darshan timings of udupi krishna

Sacred presence of Sri Krishna. Nirmalya visarjana Puja 5-a. Udupi Krishna Temple Dress Code. Men: Normal Shirt and Pant is also allowed. Restriction for shorts, night pants, modern outfits.

Free Food Timings and Annadanam timings in the evening hours.

Lunch Timings : 12:pm – 2:pm.

Both the idols of Lord Krishna and Lord Mukhyaprana are worshiped with the Panchamrit. After removing the sandal paste and flowers, in the Surya Saale of the Temple, the priest showers the idol with Gold coins. Then he bathes Lord Krishna with Ghee, Milk, . It starts from morning till late night. Free food is served every day at the temple. Suddenly, the idol facing east turned west and offered darshan on its own through the famous window.


You have to remove your vests and shirts only when you enter the Temple for Darshan and of course, when you are out of the premises you can re wear them. This tenure of worship by rotation is known as paryaya. During the Paryaya festival, held every two years, the temple management is handed over to the next Matha. Famous Hindu saints such as Chaitanya, Purandaradasa and Kanakadasa visited this temple for the darshan of Lord Krishna.

During arati, auspicious items are offered to the Deity. Arati is one aspect of Deity worship. The idol is decked differently on different days of the week. Other parts of the body decorated differently on different days present new images to the devotees.
