Wiring diagram for intermediate switch

All the issues raised there apply here too, especially if used in stairways and the switches are on different floors. Three core and earth cable is required to install two or three way switching and this should be run from the first light switch to the second ( intermediate ) and then to the third switch and then wired as shown in this diagram. Switch one is the switch that contains the live wire and switched live wire.

It should be fitted between the first and the last switches on the circuit. If replacing an existing switch, note the location of the terminals and the colour and position of cable connections.

Simply connect all the wires according to the wiring diagram.

This switch is specially designed for this purpose and must not be mistaken for .

Dotted lines show alternative switch positions. Two-way switching – wire control. An intermediate lighting circuit is used when one circuit is to be turned on or off by three or more switches.

The single circuit may have one or more lights in it. This type of circuit uses two of the two way switches and one or more of the intermediate switches. A wiring and circuit diagram is shown below. Notice that the wire connected to the COM terminals is looped straight through the intermediate switch using a . Hope it will helps in your home project.

Make sure you always use the same size wire in your circuit. On this circuit you would need the middle switch (eg the one at the top of the stairs) to be an intermediate switch. This can be continued for multiple switches, so it applies to three or more. This is where you can control the same light via two switches.

One minor issue, my lighting circuit goes from switch box to switch box. Check out the diagram below that . Intermediate switches have terminals marked L L Land L4. Fig 2: Triple gang intermediate light switch. Each of the gangs (or switches ) above in Fig (of which there are three) work like this (Fig 3): There are four terminals, usually L Land L L2.

Circuit diagrams - Two way switching means having two or more switches in different locations to control one lamp. They are wired so that operation of either. Here we will explain how the most common lighting circuit.

Connect the cables as shown in the wiring diagram. Wire each circuit to individual switches. THIS VIDEO BASICALLY FOCUS ON HOW TO IDENTIFY INTERMEDIATE SWITCH AND ITS TERMINALS.
